OpenAI has launched a new feature for ChatGPT called 'Canvas,' designed to enhance collaboration on writing and coding projects. Canvas allows users to make changes, add comments, review code, debug issues, and port code to other languages in real-time. The tool aims to streamline workflows by offering inline editing capabilities similar to Google Docs. It also incorporates novel synthetic data generation techniques to fine-tune GPT-4o, enabling high-quality comments and targeted edits. Currently in beta and available to Plus users, Canvas is expected to be available to the public soon. OpenAI, with almost 2000 full-time employees, continues to innovate in AI-driven tools.
