OpenAI's ChatGPT, along with its API and Sora services, experienced a global outage on December 26, causing disruptions for millions of users worldwide. The issue, which began around 1:30 PM ET, was acknowledged by OpenAI, who attributed it to problems with an upstream provider. Downdetector reported over 10,000 outage reports in the United States as of 2:07 PM ET, and over 15,000 users have reported issues with the chatbot. This marks the second outage for ChatGPT this month. OpenAI stated that they have identified the issue and have begun the recovery process, aiming to restore services as soon as possible.
