The initiative will distribute over $800,000 in matching funds aimed at fostering collaboration, governance processes, and external partnerships within the blockchain ecosystem. Additionally, the Metis Foundation has introduced a $4 million annualized grants program in collaboration with Gitcoin, designed to incentivize developers and promote innovation on the Metis network. Sov, the Head of Grants at Gitcoin, will be speaking at the upcoming Onchain Giving Summit, highlighting the impact of community empowerment in onchain capital allocation. Applications for Gitcoin Grants are now open, showcasing various research proposals that demonstrate the potential of web3 technology in enhancing civic engagement and stewardship in local communities.
