In Buenos Aires, a political controversy has emerged involving the displacement of 24 senior officers from the Buenos Aires Provincial Police (Bonaerense). Governor Axel Kicillof accused the officers of conspiring to intervene in the police force to secure key positions and alleged their involvement in partisan activities supporting a candidate affiliated with Javier Milei's La Libertad Avanza (LLA) coalition. The provincial government filed a judicial complaint regarding this alleged police plot. Patricia Bullrich, a political opponent of Kicillof, criticized the dismissals and met with Maximiliano Bondarenko, a police official affected by the removals, who denied any collaboration with the LLA campaign. Bullrich also engaged with U.S. officials, including Kristi Noem, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, who visited Argentina. Milei himself met with Noem at the Casa Rosada, where Argentina submitted a letter of intent to join the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. The meetings included Argentina's Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein.
