Amazon Web Services (AWS) has recently announced several initiatives and products focused on generative AI. The AWS Generative AI Spotlight program in APJ is a four-week accelerator for pre-seed and seed-stage startups building generative AI applications. Participants will gain access to the AWS Activate program. Additionally, AWS has launched the AWS Public Sector Generative Artificial Intelligence Impact Initiative, committing $50 million over two years to support AI innovation in the public sector. These efforts are part of AWS's broader strategy to enhance its generative AI capabilities and compete with Microsoft and Google. AWS's new CEO, Matt Garman, has highlighted these initiatives among the 10 biggest new product launches from AWS in 2024.
