A China-backed hacking group known as Earth Lamia has launched a series of cyberattacks targeting government agencies, IT firms, and universities across several countries including India, Brazil, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand. The group is exploiting multiple vulnerabilities, notably in SAP NetWeaver and TeamCity platforms, using techniques such as SQL injections, custom malware deployment, and ransomware attacks followed by data deletion. Additionally, Chinese hackers have been reported to use Google Calendar as a vector to target government agencies. These coordinated attacks highlight ongoing cybersecurity threats linked to Chinese state-sponsored actors exploiting known software flaws across Asia and Latin America.
