Volkswagen has announced the integration of ChatGPT into its in-car voice assistant, IDA, enhancing the driving experience with AI-powered conversational capabilities. The rollout will begin on September 6, starting with the 2025 Jetta, Jetta GLI, and ID.4 models in the US market. The new feature, branded as Plus Speech, will provide both locally processed and cloud-based responses, requiring a subscription for full access. This development aims to offer a more intuitive and interactive experience for drivers, leveraging advanced AI technology.
