Xiaomi Corp. delivered stronger-than-expected second-quarter results, reporting revenue of roughly 116 billion yuan ($16.2 billion) against analysts’ 115 billion-yuan consensus and net income of 11.90 billion yuan, far above the 8.88 billion-yuan estimate. Adjusted net profit rose 75 percent to 10.83 billion yuan, while operating profit more than doubled to 13.44 billion yuan. Revenue grew 30.5 percent year on year, marking a fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit expansion. A resilient smartphone segment, particularly in Southeast Asia, offset softer demand elsewhere, with global shipments edging up 0.6 percent to 42.4 million handsets. The core smartphone-and-AIoT unit generated 94.7 billion yuan, supported by higher margins on connected home-appliance products. The company’s year-old electric-vehicle arm continued to scale. Smart-EV and related businesses contributed about 21.3 billion yuan in revenue, more than triple a year earlier. Xiaomi delivered 81,302 cars in the quarter, buoyed by brisk orders for the new YU7 sport-utility vehicle, and trimmed the segment’s operating loss to 300 million yuan, helped by a gross margin of 26.4 percent. President Lu Weibing told analysts the EV division is on course to achieve quarterly profitability in the second half of this year and confirmed plans to enter the European market in 2027. Xiaomi slightly lowered its full-year smartphone shipment goal to 175 million units but said its broader product mix and overseas momentum should sustain growth despite a sluggish global handset market.
