Fantom has officially rebranded to Sonic Labs, as announced on August 2, 2024. The new entity, identified as @0xSonicLabs, aims to focus on developing a high-speed blockchain solution. Sonic Labs plans to release its new EVM platform, named Sonic, in the fourth quarter of 2024. This platform is projected to achieve over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) with a transaction confirmation time of one second. In addition to the rebranding, recent updates in the governance space include a staking and governance attack on Compound DAO, a service agreement between Element DAO and Delv Tech, and a live proposal for token supply reduction by Jupiter Exchange.
