A 50-year-old Hanson man has been arrested and indicted on federal dogfighting charges, marking the first such case in Massachusetts. The arrest, which took place on Friday, followed a yearslong, multi-state investigation involving Maine, Massachusetts, Florida, and New York. During a raid on the man's property, at least 8 dogs, along with drugs, steroids, gear, and materials for dog training and fighting, were seized. Additionally, 13 animals were removed from his home in an earlier police action.
