Carrefour Brasil has officially delisted from the Brazilian stock exchange (B3) after eight years of trading. The retailer's market value at exit was 44% lower than at its initial public offering (IPO) in 2017, when its shares were priced at R$15, equivalent to R$22.50 in current terms. The departure was marked by a 62% drop in its share price over this period. The decline in Carrefour's stock has been attributed to a combination of operational and strategic challenges. Following the delisting, Carrefour Brasil completed a corporate restructuring and will now trade Brazilian Depositary Receipts (BDRs) on B3, allowing investors to maintain exposure to the company through this alternative instrument. The exit of Carrefour is part of a broader trend of companies leaving the Brazilian stock market. Meanwhile, JBS received approval from the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM) for dual listing, indicating contrasting movements among major Brazilian firms regarding stock exchange participation.
