The Brazilian Federal Police (PF) launched an operation targeting a criminal scheme involving fake websites for the 2024 National High School Exam (Enem) registration. The fraudulent platform, which mimicked official pages of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep), deceived over 35,000 candidates who paid a fake registration fee of R$85. The scam generated approximately R$3 million in illicit proceeds. The operation, named Só Oficial, included the execution of three search and seizure warrants and the freezing of assets worth R$3 million in São Paulo. Among the suspects is an individual with at least 15 prior convictions for fraud. Victims of the scheme were disqualified from participating in Enem 2024 as a result of the fraudulent registrations.
