The Polícia Federal (PF) has launched multiple operations targeting fraud schemes in Brazil, particularly against the Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS). On March 18, the PF arrested 13 individuals involved in a fraud scheme that caused losses of R$ 50 million to the INSS in Rio de Janeiro. The operation, known as 'Caça ao Tesouro', involved illegal withdrawals of benefits and included 13 preventive arrest warrants and 19 search and seizure warrants. Additionally, the PF executed Operation Biometrics, which uncovered a banking fraud scheme that moved approximately R$ 42 million, resulting in 16 preventive arrests and 34 search warrants across São Paulo and other states. Another operation, 'Sisamnes', was initiated to investigate obstruction of justice and corruption, leading to one arrest and four search warrants. The PF's ongoing efforts reflect a broader crackdown on organized crime and corruption affecting public funds in Brazil.
