Telefônica Brasil has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in fiber optic infrastructure company FiBrasil from the Canadian investment fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) for 850 million Brazilian reais (approximately $131 million). This purchase gives Telefônica full ownership of FiBrasil, reinforcing its position in the fixed-line segment within the Brazilian market, one of its main operational areas. Separately, UK broadband provider TalkTalk Telecom Group Plc secured a new £100 million ($134 million) funding deal from Ares Management Corp. less than a year after a major financial restructuring. Additionally, Telecom obtained financing in the United States totaling $1 billion to support its acquisition of Telefónica, although this deal faces opposition from Argentine politician Javier Milei, who has pledged to block the merger. Telecom also secured an additional $200 million to advance its contested purchase of Telefónica.
