The Brazilian football club Vitória has officially dismissed head coach Thiago Carpini after a tenure of 14 months marked by underwhelming results. Carpini was relieved of his duties following Vitória's elimination from the Copa do Nordeste, where they lost 1-0 to Confiança in the quarterfinals. During his time at Vitória, Carpini managed 75 games with a record of 29 wins, 22 draws, and 24 losses, achieving a 48.4% win rate and registering the club's second-longest unbeaten streak of 22 matches. The club quickly moved to appoint Fábio Carille as the new head coach. Carille, who had been out of work since leaving Vasco da Gama, signed a contract with Vitória through the end of 2026 and will bring a four-person coaching staff. At Vasco, Carille managed 21 games with a 48.4% win rate, scoring 28 goals and conceding 21. Vitória’s management is expected to consult with Carille before pursuing further player acquisitions, including two new foreign signings recently revealed by the club’s director.
