Costumes, props and period vehicles from the hit British series "Downton Abbey" have gone on public display in central London ahead of a charity auction that will close the franchiseʼs 15-year run. Organised by Bonhams, the exhibition opened on 18 August and features more than 200 lots drawn from the television drama and its two feature films. Headline pieces include Lord and Lady Grantham’s 1925 Sunbeam saloon car, estimated at £25,000–£35,000, the servants’ bell wall valued at up to £8,000, and the wedding dress worn by Lady Mary Crawley, expected to fetch as much as £5,000. All items are being offered in an online sale that began Monday and will run through 16 September. Proceeds will benefit the UK children’s charity Together for Short Lives. The auction coincides with the marketing build-up to “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale,” the third and final film in the franchise, which is scheduled for release on 12 September.
