NatWest has issued a warning to all customers, particularly mortgage holders, urging them to take immediate action regarding their accounts. As families face rising costs, financial expert Martin Lewis has advised parents to spend £5 now to avoid a future charge of £99 per child. Additionally, thousands of families are eligible for financial assistance, including up to £450 to help with food and energy costs, and a £500 summer Cost of Living payment for parents. Lewis's MoneySavingExpert (MSE) also indicated that millions of mortgage holders could receive an extra £220. Furthermore, parents are encouraged to spend £150 in August to prevent a charge of £709 in September. In the savings sector, banks, including NatWest and Co-Operative, are cutting interest rates, prompting MSE to advise customers to consider moving their money to better savings accounts offering rates as high as 10%. A recent report highlighted that thousands of households can receive £124 directly into their bank accounts.
