Pop singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter capped the second of her two nights at the British Summer Time (BST) festival in London’s Hyde Park on 6 July by bringing out Duran Duran for a surprise performance of the band’s 1982 hit “Hungry Like The Wolf.” Frontman Simon Le Bon and bassist John Taylor exchanged vocals and riffs with Carpenter, who provided backing harmonies before the three closed the song with a mock howl that drew an ovation from the estimated 50,000-strong crowd. The set followed an all-female support lineup of Amber Mark, Beabadoobee and Clairo. Mid-show, Carpenter invited Clairo and actor-comedian Ayo Edebiri on stage, jokingly “arresting” the pair for being “too hot” and coaxing them into the viral “Apple” dance from Carpenter’s “Espresso” video. A few songs later the headliner light-heartedly apologised for any perceived “Clairo shade,” telling the singer, “I love you too,” before restarting the concert. Carpenter’s two BST appearances form part of her European summer run after opening for Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” last year. Duran Duran’s cameo marked the veteran group’s first Hyde Park appearance since headlining their own BST date in 2022.
