The 2025 season of The Hundred cricket competition is approaching its conclusion with the group stage completed and only two games remaining to decide the champions. In the men's tournament, Southern Brave secured an unbeaten record with eight wins from eight matches, becoming the first team to do so and directly advancing to the final. Trent Rockets, Northern Superchargers, and Oval Invincibles have qualified for the playoffs, with the Northern Superchargers making the playoffs for the first time and set to face the 2022 champions Trent Rockets in the Eliminator. Key performances included Joe Root's back-to-back fifties guiding Trent Rockets to a playoff spot, and a strong bowling display from Rehan Ahmed, George Linde, and Joe Root restricting Birmingham Phoenix to 111/9. Birmingham Phoenix themselves achieved a notable victory over Manchester Originals, who now sit at the bottom of the table. In the women's competition, Southern Brave have also reached the final, while Superchargers, Spirit, Originals, and Rockets remain contenders for the Eliminator. Nat Sciver-Brunt's 52 helped Trent Rockets finish fourth with a third consecutive win. Welsh Fire finished bottom in both men's and women's competitions, with Tom Kohler-Cadmore's 84 runs unable to prevent their defeat. The final stages of the tournament will determine if Oval Invincibles can achieve a three-peat as champions. Separately, in Australian sports, the Gold Coast Suns have reached the finals for the first time in 15 years.
