Advanced Micro Devices said Chief Accounting Officer Philip Carter will leave the chipmaker on Sept. 5 to become chief financial officer at Skyworks Solutions. AMD added in a regulatory filing that Carter’s departure is not related to any issues with the company’s accounting or financial reporting. Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu will assume Carter’s responsibilities on an interim basis while the company searches for a permanent replacement. Separately, Qualcomm disclosed that Chief Financial Officer Neil Martin has resigned. The wireless-chip supplier named Patricia Grech, currently a senior vice president, as its new chief accounting officer, according to the same day’s filing. Qualcomm did not cite any disagreements or accounting matters related to Martin’s exit.
