PepsiCo Inc. will lift the list price of its carbonated soft-drink concentrate by 10% for US customers beginning 7 September, according to industry publication Beverage Digest. The surcharge applies to concentrate delivered to independent bottlers that manufacture and distribute brands such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist. The company will also raise wholesale prices on finished canned and bottled sodas by between 3% and 5%, with the exact increase varying by brand, Beverage Digest reported. The move adds to a series of price adjustments by large beverage makers aimed at offsetting higher input, packaging and logistics costs.
Despite the fact that @pepsi is raising prices by 10%, according to the @BLS_gov U.S. inflation is just ~3% right now. #tellmeliestellmesweetlittlelies #yeahright https://t.co/E4L7xfnjMG https://t.co/ZcaMBPnZbj
