
The S&P 500 Utilities sector has reached a new all-time high after a 0.05% gain. Over the past seven days, every member of the sector has been trading above its 200-day moving average. Additionally, the percentage of S&P 500 Utility sector stocks trading within 5% of a 252-day high has surpassed 96%, a rare occurrence that has historically led to declines 89% of the time in the subsequent month. The sector has also outperformed the Dow Jones Utilities Index by the widest margin on record through the end of Q3. Notably, 100% of Utility stocks are trading above their 200-day moving average, the most since April 2021.
