Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh, an 18-year-old Olympian from Toronto, has set three world records within five days at the 2025 Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria. She broke her own world record in the 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:23.65, marking her third world record at the meet. In addition to this, she set world records in the 400-meter freestyle and the 200-meter individual medley, alongside two Canadian records in the 800-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly. McIntosh is the first swimmer since Michael Phelps in 2008 to break world records in three different individual events at a single long course meet. She is expected to compete in these events at the upcoming World Championships, where she has already begun her campaign by winning her first gold medal and is aiming for a total of five golds. Her performances have drawn comparisons to swimming legends and have positioned her as a dominant figure in international swimming.
