A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by 330 current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) challenging a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The court ruled that the lawsuit lacked sufficient material facts to support the claims that the mandate violated the plaintiffs' Charter rights. In a separate ruling, a federal judge also dismissed a lawsuit by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee against Meta, stating that Huckabee's claims regarding false advertising of CBD gummies using his likeness were conclusory and dismissed with prejudice. Additionally, the Federal Court has approved an $817 million settlement related to the miscalculation of disability pensions for CAF veterans, RCMP members, and their survivors, with a claim submission deadline set for March 19, 2025.
