
Foreign ownership of U.S. equities and bonds has reached $29.1 trillion, marking one of the largest capital transfers in history over the last 15 years. This significant influx of foreign investment has contributed to the U.S. economy growing 50% larger than that of the European Union during the same period. In related economic data, Canada's housing starts rose by 8% in October, reaching an annualized figure of 240.8K, surpassing estimates of 240.0K. Additionally, U.S. Treasury International Capital (TIC) data revealed net long-term TIC flows of $216.1 billion for September, a substantial increase from the previous $111.4 billion. Meanwhile, foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities also increased, with a rise of $169.5 billion noted in September, reflecting a record high in foreign ownership of Treasury debt.
