In a social-media statement, she explained that the 63-year-old commentator was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS), a condition that impairs the body’s ability to detoxify mold and bacteria. Peterson’s symptoms reportedly intensified in recent weeks after he was exposed to a heavily contaminated environment while helping clear his late father’s house. The family said he has struggled with the illness since 2017, but recent exposure triggered a severe flare-up, leading doctors to recommend an immediate, indefinite break from all tours, speaking engagements and his popular podcast.
