The National Hockey League unveiled its national broadcast lineup for the 2025-26 season, assigning more than 300 games to five media partners as part of a 1,312-game slate that begins Oct. 7. The season opens with a banner-raising in Florida and a three-game tripleheader on ESPN, followed a night later by TNT’s debut doubleheader. A 19-day pause is built in from Feb. 6-24 for NHL player participation in the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, the league’s first Olympic appearance since 2014. The Walt Disney Company secured 100 exclusive match-ups distributed across ABC, ESPN, ESPN+ and Hulu, including the Opening Night tripleheader, the Frozen Frenzy whip-around, the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Stanley Cup Final. TNT Sports will air 72 regular-season contests and hold U.S. rights to marquee events such as the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic and the Thanksgiving Showdown. In Canada, Amazon’s Prime Monday Night Hockey returns with 26 Monday games featuring 22 clubs and all seven Canadian teams, launching with an Oct. 13 doubleheader on Canadian Thanksgiving. Sportsnet will carry 137 regular-season games, and all but five will involve at least one Canadian side. The league also confirmed exhibition matchups in Sweden in November and full coverage across TVA Sports in French-language markets. Detailed club-by-club schedules, including Chicago’s 15 nationally televised games and Vegas’s 15, were released separately.
