Ontario high school students will soon be required to pass a financial literacy assessment to graduate, as announced by Education Minister Stephen Lecce. The test aims to improve students' skills in managing budgets, saving, investing, and preventing financial fraud. Currently, only 25 states in the US mandate personal finance classes for high schoolers, with schools serving predominantly Black and brown students less likely to offer such courses.
