Lyft Inc. has launched its ride-hailing service in Puerto Rico, marking the company’s first entry into a U.S. territory outside the mainland. Service is initially centered on the capital, San Juan, and went live on 8 July 2025 as part of Lyft’s broader expansion across North America and into Europe. The company began recruiting local drivers in May, offering a $100 incentive for completing 50 trips during their first month on the platform. Lyft said the Puerto Rico rollout extends its network to a market with strong tourism demand and complements recent moves to add new cities in Canada and the United Kingdom.
