Emilie Kiser, an influencer with millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram, issued her first public statement on 28 August, three months after her three-year-old son, Trigg, drowned in the family’s backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona. Writing on both platforms, Kiser said the loss "feels impossible to put into words," adding that she "takes full accountability" for the accident and "should have done more to protect him." Police records show Trigg slipped outside on 12 May while his father, Brady Kiser, was caring for him and a newborn sibling. Surveillance footage reviewed by Chandler police indicated the child was unsupervised for about nine minutes and submerged for roughly seven minutes before being found; he died in hospital on 18 May. Investigators recommended a felony child-abuse charge against Brady, citing distraction by an NBA playoff game and a $25 sports bet, but the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in July there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. Kiser said the pool lacked a permanent safety fence, calling its absence “one of the hardest lessons I carry” and urging other families to install protective barriers. She also pledged to set stricter boundaries around her family’s online exposure as they continue to grieve.
