Santiago’s municipal government has approved the return of Lollapalooza Chile to Parque O’Higgins, ending a seven-year absence from the city-centre venue. The 2026 edition of the three-day festival is scheduled for 13–15 March, according to the municipality and industry sources. Lollapalooza was held at Parque O’Higgins until 2019 but relocated to Parque Bicentenario de Cerrillos for the 2022-25 editions after a dispute with the previous municipal administration and pandemic-related cancellations. The event has drawn more than ten editions in Chile since its local debut in 2011. Mayor Mario Desbordes said the festival will inject “indispensable” revenue into Santiago and help revitalise the capital’s cultural offering after years of social unrest and COVID-19 restrictions. The Municipal Committee of Permits cleared the move on condition that organisers meet technical and regulatory requirements and pay the requisite municipal fees.
