Pablo Milad, president of the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP), confirmed that he will not seek re-election and announced a deliberate search for a new head coach for the Chilean national football team, La Roja. Following Chile's elimination from the World Cup, Nicolás Córdova has been appointed as interim coach for the senior national team for the remaining World Cup qualifying matches. Córdova will also lead the Chilean Under-20 team in the upcoming U-20 World Cup, taking on a dual coaching role.
