Esteban Valenzuela has resigned as Chile's Minister of Agriculture following his party, the Social Green Regionalist Federation (FRVS), deciding to run separately from the official government parliamentary list. The government requested his resignation amid the controversy surrounding the unified parliamentary list. President Gabriel Boric is reported to have removed Valenzuela from his ministerial position. The departure has drawn criticism from Jaime Mulet, who described it as a "nearly childish blunder" that could harm Jeannette Jara's candidacy. Jara, however, expressed support for President Boric's decision, stating that he must have his reasons. Separately, Miguel Mellado resigned from the Renovación Nacional (RN) party after failing to secure a Senate candidacy and has since aligned himself with José Antonio Kast's campaign. RN's president indicated that Mellado's departure was personally anticipated, and deputy Evelyn Matthei distanced her campaign from Daniel Pérez Pallares, who was behind attacks on Kast.
