
Multiple cryptocurrency users have reported significant losses due to security breaches involving malicious software and advanced hacking techniques. A Chinese Binance user lost $1 million on May 24, 2024, after downloading a KOL-promoted Google plugin called Aggr, which allowed hackers to bypass passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA) using hijacked cookies. Another Binance user was hacked on March 1, 2024. Additionally, an OKX user disclosed that hackers used AI-generated deepfake videos to change passwords and 2FA, resulting in the theft of over $2 million. The incidents have raised concerns about the security of cryptocurrency assets and the increasing sophistication of hacking methods.
