China’s Ministry of Commerce and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a formal review and implementation mechanism for the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement. The accord, struck on 16 July, comes as the trade pact reaches its 10-year milestone. The memorandum commits the two governments to examine ways to deepen cooperation under ChAFTA, explore potential expansions of market access in goods, services and investment, and address implementation issues that have arisen since the agreement entered into force in 2015.
