As of the end of July 2024, China's foreign exchange reserves increased to $3.2564 trillion, reflecting a rise of $34 billion or 1.06% from June. This growth in reserves is attributed to favorable market conditions, including a decline in the US dollar index and rising prices of global financial assets. Meanwhile, China's gold reserves remained unchanged at 72.8 million ounces, equivalent to approximately 2,264 tonnes, accounting for around 5% of the country's total reserves. This marks the third consecutive month without any change in gold holdings, according to the People's Bank of China.
