China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee will convene in Beijing from 8 to 12 September, according to a brief notice from Xinhua News Agency. The Standing Committee is the country’s top legislative body when the full National People’s Congress is not in session, and it typically reviews and approves draft laws, personnel changes and treaty ratifications. Xinhua did not immediately publish the meeting’s agenda.
