China’s PBOC Governor, Regulators to Discuss Market Stabilization and Private Sector Promotion Law

Chinese authorities are set to hold two key press conferences in Beijing addressing major economic policies. On Wednesday, the State Council Information Office (SCIO) will host a news conference featuring the governor of the People's Bank of China, the heads of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, and the Securities Regulator to discuss a financial policy package aimed at stabilizing the market and managing expectations. The following day, Thursday, the SCIO will hold another press briefing focused on the Private Sector Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China. This law represents the country’s first fundamental legislation dedicated to promoting the private sector. Chinese officials emphasized that the new law will enhance legal protections for private businesses by strengthening oversight of administrative law enforcement, reflecting the government’s efforts to support private enterprise within the broader economic framework.
