Liu Yi, former secretary general of the Chinese Football Association, stood trial on Tuesday on charges of accepting bribes in Xianning, Hubei Province. Du Zhaocai, former deputy director of the General Administration of Sport of China and former Party secretary of the Chinese Football Association, was accused of accepting over 43.41 million yuan ($6.09 million) in bribes during a trial in Wuhan. Du pleaded guilty to these charges on Wednesday.
