The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) reported record profits and revenue for the fourth quarter of 2024, with net profit increasing approximately 46% year-on-year to a record HKD 3.78 billion. The surge in profits was attributed to a rise in trading volume, which doubled to an average daily turnover of HKD 186.9 billion. This increase in investor interest has also contributed to a recovery in the Chinese stock market, with the Hang Seng Tech Index reaching its highest level since December 2021.
