HSBC has completed the acquisition of Citigroup’s retail wealth management business in the Chinese mainland. The London-headquartered bank has added over 300 employees to its headcount in China as part of this expansion. This move, announced on Tuesday, is part of HSBC's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in China’s wealth management market, reflecting its confidence in the market’s growth potential. Additionally, HSBC has agreed to buy part of its partner’s stake in a China fund venture, becoming a majority shareholder.
