Chinese robotics firm UBTech has unveiled the Walker S2, the world’s first humanoid robot capable of autonomously swapping its own battery within three minutes without human intervention or shutdown. This hot-swappable battery system enables the robot to operate continuously 24/7, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance labor costs. The Walker S2 features anthropomorphic bipedal locomotion, a dual-loop AI system called BrainNet 2.0 combined with Co-Agent, and human-like binocular stereo vision. The autonomous battery replacement allows the robot to return to a charging point, swap batteries quickly, and resume work on dynamic industrial factory lines with minimal supervision. UBTech, based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, positions the Walker S2 as a major advancement in smart manufacturing and industrial automation, potentially ending the era of mass human labor in certain sectors.
