Colombian President Gustavo Petro has identified a suspect linked to the recent attack on a military base in Cali, naming the individual as alias Sebastián, a member of the EMC structures. The attack in Cali, along with other violent incidents in Antioquia and three other locations, resulted in over 60 casualties, including both fatalities and injuries. In response, Cali's mayor Alejandro Eder has ordered the militarization of the city. The Colombian Army commander has also mandated a lockdown following these terrorist attacks. President Petro has announced plans to classify dissident groups of the FARC and the Clan del Golfo as terrorist organizations, urging that the Narcotrafficking Board and its armed groups be similarly designated. Political leaders have called on Petro to take decisive action against these armed factions amid the escalating violence.
