OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman has announced that the upcoming GPT-5 model will represent a significant leap forward in artificial intelligence, addressing many of the current limitations in reasoning and consistency. Altman emphasized that GPT-5, which is not yet finished, is expected to have a 'Ph.D.-level' intelligence and perform better at a wider variety of tasks compared to GPT-4. At the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, Altman compared the rise of AI to transformative events such as the discovery of agriculture or the invention of industrial-era machines. Altman also mentioned that by the time we get to GPT-6 or 7, what one person can do with AI will be 'incredibly increased.'
