Workers at roughly 45 Safeway and Albertsons supermarkets across Colorado ended a nearly three-week strike after their union, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7, said it reached a “fully recommended” tentative contract with the company on Saturday. According to the union, the proposed deal includes strong wage increases, fully funded pension and health-care benefits, and improved dental and vision coverage. Picketing ceased immediately, and employees are expected to be back on the job no later than Monday. Full details will be presented to members for a ratification vote in the coming days.
