Several major companies reported their first quarter 2025 financial results, with mixed outcomes across industries. Alcoa Corporation (AA) reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.15, surpassing estimates of $1.68, despite revenue of $3.37 billion falling short of the expected $3.45 billion. The company cited a positive aluminum market contributing to stronger results. Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) posted revenue of $4.24 billion, beating estimates of $4.08 billion and marking a 10% year-over-year increase, but its adjusted EPS of $0.34 missed the $0.35 estimate slightly. The company also announced a cash dividend of $0.2925 per share payable May 15 and reiterated that tariffs would not significantly impact project economics. CSX Corporation (CSX) reported a decline in net income by 27% to $646 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, missing analyst estimates of $0.37 EPS and $3.46 billion revenue with actual revenue at $3.42 billion. The company attributed the profit drop to two major construction projects and severe weather-related flooding, which reduced shipments. Banner Corp. (BANR) beat estimates with an adjusted EPS of $1.29 versus $1.22 and sales of $160.19 million against $140.60 million expected. Bank OZK (OZK) also exceeded expectations with GAAP EPS of $1.47 compared to $1.44 estimates. Synovus Financial Corp. (SNV) reported adjusted EPS of $1.30, beating $1.12 estimates, and sales of $570.85 million. Home BancShares, Inc. (HOMB) and Huntington Bancshares Inc. (HBAN) both beat earnings estimates with adjusted EPS of $0.56 and GAAP EPS of $0.34 respectively, alongside sales beats. Simmons First National Corp. (SFNC) missed EPS estimates with $0.26 versus $0.35 but beat sales expectations. The earnings season also includes upcoming reports and conference calls from companies such as Qualcomm, Reynolds Consumer Products, Pioneer Power, Sleep Number Corporation, Sonos, and others scheduled through May 2025.
