Block Inc. reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.62 a share, missing Wall Street projections that ranged around $0.67–$0.69. Revenue slipped 2 percent from a year earlier to $6.05 billion, also below the $6.29 billion consensus. Within the quarter, Cash App generated $1.50 billion in gross profit, while payment-processing arm Square handled $64.25 billion in gross payment volume. Management forecast third-quarter gross profit of about $2.60 billion. The company lifted its full-year 2025 outlook, projecting gross profit of $10.17 billion and adjusted operating income of $2.03 billion, up from prior targets of $9.96 billion and $1.9 billion, respectively. Block said it expects gross-profit growth to accelerate in the fourth quarter to roughly 19 percent as it exits the year. Investors welcomed the stronger guidance; Block’s shares climbed roughly 8 percent in after-hours trading to $83.01.
