Greek energy company Public Power Corporation (ΔΕΗ) reported EBITDA of 450 million euros for the first quarter of 2025, maintaining resilient profitability despite unfavorable hydrological and wind conditions. The company announced a proposed dividend of 0.4 euros per share and plans for a new share buyback program. CEO Giorgos Stassis indicated that net profits for 2025 are expected to exceed 400 million euros. ΔΕΗ is also advancing major investments totaling 3.5 billion euros focused on green energy and expansion into European markets. Meanwhile, Portuguese financial institutions Banco Comercial Português (BCP) and conglomerate Sonae posted strong first-quarter results. BCP's net profit rose 3.9% to 243.5 million euros, driven by increased financial margins in its international subsidiaries which offset declines in Portugal. Sonae reported a 77% increase in profits to 43 million euros, contributing to a 7% surge in its stock price at the Lisbon stock exchange opening.
