Verizon Communications reported its second-quarter 2025 earnings surpassing analyst expectations across key financial metrics. The company posted an adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.22, exceeding estimates of around $1.19, reflecting a 6.1% year-over-year increase. Operating revenue reached $34.5 billion, up 5.2% from the previous year and above the consensus estimate of approximately $33.7 billion. Adjusted EBITDA was $12.8 billion, also beating forecasts and marking a 4.1% year-over-year growth. Consumer revenue rose 5% year-over-year to $26.68 billion, while business revenue stood at $7.3 billion. Wireless equipment revenue surged 25%, contributing to overall revenue growth. Verizon added 177,000 wireless subscribers, although consumer wireless postpaid phone net losses were 51,000 with a churn rate of 1.12%. Following the strong quarterly performance, Verizon raised its full-year 2025 financial guidance, increasing adjusted EPS growth expectations to between 1% and 3% from the prior 0% to 3%. The company also lifted its forecast for adjusted EBITDA growth to 2.5% to 3.5% and raised its free cash flow outlook to a range of $19.5 billion to $20.58 billion, up from earlier estimates of $17.5 billion to $18.58 billion. CEO Hans Vestberg highlighted the robust results and noted progress on the Frontier acquisition, which is expected to support future growth.
