FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried is facing fraud charges, with his lawyers possibly preparing to appeal his sentence. Discussions arise about whether his potential leniency should be influenced by the recovery of funds by his account holders. The case is being closely watched as it may impact the definition of fraud.

I hope that SBF's sentence isn't lowered because more people will recover their money. While that's a good thing, it has nothing to do with him and his conduct was the same; he shouldn't get bailed out by crypto prices being surprisingly strong in the last month or two.
I wrote @slate about a twist in the Sam Bankman-Fried case: It looks like the people he defrauded for billions are going to get their money back. Could that result in the most famous crook in his industry getting a lighter sentence? It is complicated https://t.co/dlLfGh4Sls
